GWR Class 9400 0-6-0 Pannier Tank

 Built 1947-55, Designed by Frederick W. Hawksworth. Total Number Built - 210.

Introduced 1947. Hawksworth taper boiler pannier tank design for heavy shunting duties.

Withdrawals began in March 1959 when 8417 of Tysley shed was condemmed. The last 19 locos were withdrawn June 1965. Some are preserved.

Number Series 3400-3409, 8400-8499, 9400-9499.
