GWR Class 9000 4-4-0

Built 1930-48. Designed by
Charles B. Collett. Total Number Built - 120.
Introduced 1936. Collett rebuild incorporating "Duke" Class boilers and Bulldog Class frames for work on secondary lines. Numbered in 3200-28 series until 1946.

The first withdrawal was 9007 (3207), from Tysley (Birmingham) shed, in July 1948 and the last two locos, 9014 and 9017 were withdrawn from Croes Newydd and Machynlleth sheds respectively in October 1960. None are preserved.

Number Series 9000-9028 (Formerly 3200-3228).

Built by Great Western Railway Swindon Works.
