Introduced 1931. Collett design for light passenger work. All fitted with push-pull control apparatus for auto-train working.

Number Series 5400-5424.

Built at Great Western Railway Swindon Works.

*5400 Lot No. ??? 1932 5420-5424 Lot No. 301 1935

*Two locomotives numbered 5400 were built. The first one was a rebuild of Class 2021, number 2062. The second 5400, was built as a replacement, after loco 5419. However, neither the first was taken off stock, nor the second taken into stock, so officially only one existed!!!
