GWR Class 3150 2-6-2 Tank

Built 1906-08, Designed by
George J. Churchwood. Total Number Built - 41.
Introduced 1906. Churchwood GWR design, developed from the original 3100 Class, which were rebuilt as Class 5100, but fitted with larger boiler. All subsequently superheated. Five locos, Nos 3173/56/81/55/79 respectively were later rebuilt by Collett as the new Class 3100 with higher boiler pressure and smaller driving wheels. The first withdrawals 3152/62/66 were made in January 1947 and the last loco, 3190 was withdrawn in March 1958. None are preserved.
