Introduced 1897. Dean GWR saddle tank design. Subsequently rebuilt with pannier tanks. Built Wolverhampton 1897-1905.

Number Series 2021-2056, 2058-2127, 2129-2160.

Built at Great Western Railway Wolverhampton Works.

10 Locos 2133/125/074/145/149/118/143/087/105/157 were rebuilt as Class 2181 at Swindon during 1939-40 and renumbered 2181-2190 respectively.

The first withdrawal was 2062 in August 1930 and the last loco 2069 was withdrawn from Birkenhead shed in April 1959. None are preserved.
