LMSR/BR Main Line Diesel 10000/1 Profile


London Midland and Scottish Railway and British Railways Diesel Locomotive

Introduced in December 1947, the locomotives were built at Derby Locomotive Works during the period of Nationalisation of the railways. The locos were used on many lines on the London Midland Region of BR, until withdrawn from service. 10001 was withdrawn in December 1963 while 10000 lasted until March 1966. Both were cut up for scrap during 1968.
